To answer the question, should I unplug my machine. In regards to Canon wide format, I would say no. When you unplug the machine, it sets it back to the initial startup routine. At this point, when you restart the machine, it will go through cleaning the head, alignment etc. This will use a lot of ink for no real benefit. If you are using the machine even sparingly, it is best to leave it plugged in and let it go into sleep mode. Then periodically print something to keep the machine inked.
